President's Message

My name is Diane Lambert and I am the current President of Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile (CCMF). I am a co-founder and in 2024 Monica Vautour and I published a book about the history of CCMF called Journey to a Dream – A Story of Determination! A second edition was printed in 2025. All proceeds from the sale of this book go directly to CCMF. Our book is found on Amazon, at The Book Keeper, Dog Eat Dog or you can contact the CCMF office to obtain a copy with a donation of $15.

This past year, monies that CCMF had accumulated in the bingo fund needed to be spent under the policies of cGaming. $20,000.00 was donated to the Ontario March of Dimes to assist in paying for a new bathtub. A new computer was purchased for the office, the van lift was repaired, a backup camera for the van was purchased, we donated $800 to Disability Support Lambton-Kent Teen Transition Fair, and donated $17,538 to Sarnia Community Living for a new CL Ground FX system. We provided summer day programs at Vibe and Community Living day camp for some CCMF members and paid $500 for the delivery of the new bean bag chair that Moose Lodge donated money for. Lastly, there was a day trip to the Timbuktu Farm in Strathroy.

CCMF continues to participate in bingo at Jackpot Time and the proceeds that we receive from AGCO cover the Massage Therapy Program, Hands On Art Program, Movin & Groovin Music Program, the Interactive Experiences day trips and parties/dances for the residents of Standing Oaks and our community outreach families, van maintenance and summer camp financial assistance.

CCMF Board of Directors focused on revising its Mission and Vision Statement along with updating CCMF’s goals. These are being presented this evening for membership approval.

Thank you to the Rotary Club for allowing us to meet in its board room, right across the street from Standing Oaks. Bill Hoad has been a long-standing Rotarian and friend of CCMF. He continues to support us and always has an eye on Standing Oaks.

Thank you to the CCMF Board of Directors for your active participation, care and the number of hours you commit to CCMF. This thank you extends to all volunteers. You are all essential to this charity. A special mention too to Colleen Bressette, our Administrative Assistant. She keeps us on track and works closely with Mary, our Treasurer, and myself.

Respectfully Submitted,
Diane Lambert
CCMF President
