President's Message
Hi, my name is Diane Lambert and I am the current President of Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile (CCMF). My history with CCMF goes back to the inception of CCMF as I am a co-founder – with Monica Vautour. Monica and I self-published a book in summer of 2024 about the history of CCMF and it is called Journey to a Dream – A Story of Determination! All proceeds from the sale of this book go directly to CCMF. Our book is found on Amazon or you can contact the CCMF office 519-344-2719 to obtain a copy.
CCMF was very proud when the grand opening of Standing Oaks took place on July 10, 2004. It is a specialized group home for the medically-fragile young adults in the Lambton County community and we celebrated in style on the 20th anniversary, July 10, 2024. This was CCMF’s primary goal in the early days of CCMF’s development, when we started talking about parent burn-out and what would happen to our medically-fragile children when we could no longer care for them in our home.
CCMF has identified 12 families in the Lambton County area that have their medically-fragile child at home and CCMF’s Support & Needs Committee keeps in touch with them to update the families on any activities that they are encouraged to join in. CCMF holds an annual Seminar to provide valuable information to parents of our Standing Oaks residents and Outreach Families. We also welcome anyone else in the community involved in the caregiving of a person requiring a high level of care and/or is a Substitute Decision Maker, regardless of the reason.
If you know of any family with a medically-fragile child in the Lambton County area that could benefit from CCMF’s knowledge and expertise, please guide them to this website or have them call the CCMF office. We are here to help!
Respectfully submitted,
Diane Lambert
President, CCMF
